We opened our doors as Pestex in Toronto in May 1984. As you have certainly guessed, the inspiration for our newest branding and company name has been the magnificent Great Gray Owl. As animal enthusiasts and bird watchers, we enjoyed observing the great gray owl in the Orillia area in 2005 during their cyclical visit from the United States. It was a thrill seeing as many as 25 of these magnificent creatures up close in one day. They are unique among birds, just as we are unique among pest control companies.

The great gray owl is just one of the many species of wildlife with which we share country life and they are a poignant reminder that we are all guardians of the environment. We feel it is vitally important to maintain an ongoing focus on environmental issues and the preservation of wildlife and their habitat. Along with our ongoing support of organizations like The World Society for the Protection of Animals, World Wildlife Fund, Animals Asia, and as participants in Bird Studies Canada, we take meticulous care to practice environmental responsibility in our work and personal lives each and every day.
