Mice

We offer a guaranteed effective treatment for mice.  With our strategic baiting program you can expect the elimination of an infestation of mice within 5 to 10 days.

Our service includes the identification of vulnerable areas that require rodent proofing.  Mice need only one quarter-inch or dime-sized openings to get into your home.  And what they can't squeeze through, they can gnaw through.

The first step in mouse-proofing your home is to purchase enough silicone caulk to close even the smallest crack or gap around your foundation and seal any openings around doors and windows that are over 1/4 inch.  Use sheet metal and steel wool for sealing, where appropriate.  Downspouts need a screen at the bottom.  Sanitation is an essential component of successful mouse prevention.  Make sure that household garbage, food or feed is stored in sealed containers.  Spilled food and garbage should be cleaned up regularly.  Outside debris and vegetation should be removed.  Maintain an uncluttered, weed-free perimeter of at least 3 feet around structures.  Remove old tires, equipment, boards, pipes or wood piles that mice will find attractive to nest in.  Remove sources of water such as ditches and stagnant pools and ponds.  In conclusion, the key to successful mouse prevention is sanitation and removal of harbourage.

Signs of Infestation

  • Droppings along well-traveled pathways, in feeding areas and near the rodent's shelter.  Fresh droppings are soft and droppings from old, inactive infestations or that have been lying there for some time, are dry and crumbly. We use this evidence in monitoring situations.
  • Tracks, including footprints and tail marks, on dusty surfaces, or in mud or snow.
  • Urine along traveled pathways or in feeding areas.  Both wet and dry rodent urine glows under ultraviolet light which is sometimes utilized as a monitor of activity in commercial operations.
  • Runs or burrows next to walls, along fences, next to buildings or under bushes and debris.
  • Gnawing marks on doors or ledges, in corners, in wall material, on stored materials or on other surfaces.
  • Noises in the walls caused by dnawing, climbing, clawing, squeaks and fighting, particularly at night when rodents are most active.

If you determine the presence of an infestation of mice call us for fast, effective results.  We offer inspections and consultation too!
